Honoring
Carl P. Marinacci
At this event, we will honor Carl Marinacci, who, along with his son Kevin, founded Fabretto Children’s Foundation, a not-for-profit organization in the U.S., in 1993. His vision, leadership, and compassion have shaped the organization for over 35 years.
Carl, the son of an Italian immigrant, was born and raised in Uniontown, PA. After graduating from the local public high school, he received a General Motors scholarship to attend Johns Hopkins University. He graduated in 1962 with a B.A. in Economics. During his time at JHU, he was a member of the Economics Honors Society and the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. Carl continued his studies at the University of Chicago, where he was awarded an Honors Fellowship and earned an M.B.A. in 1964.
Carl began his professional career in 1964 when he joined Amoco Corporation. He held a wide range of roles, including Human Resources Vice President for European operations and Vice President of Compensation & Benefits. He was also actively involved in the Conference Board Compensation Committee and the Oil Industry Benefits Study Group. In 1999, he retired from Amoco after a 35-year career in Human Resources, which included assignments in Detroit, London, and Chicago.
Carl married in 1965 and has three sons, two daughters, and five grandchildren. He has lived in Evanston, Illinois since 1978, where he has actively participated in community initiatives. He served on the Evanston Human Relations Commission from 1986 to 1990 and on the Board of the Jesuit Volunteer International Corps from 1995 to 1998.
Carl has served as founder, board chair, dedicated board member, and unwavering champion—truly the ultimate ambassador for Fabretto Children’s Foundation. His vision and commitment have shaped the organization in profound ways; Fabretto simply would not be what it is today without his leadership and heart.
