"Alegria" by Melki

Melki is an Empowerment International student that took part in EI's photography program in the village of Santa Ana, Nicaragua. The children of the rural community struggled every day to get to school due to the mud caused by heavy rains. Melki captured this special moment when all the students were surprised with new boots for school. It was an incredibly exciting day. The photo is called "Alegria," the Spanish word for happiness.
